These are on ad hoc basis initially for 89 days (44 days in case of selection of UR category candidate against reserved posts of EWS/OBC/SC & ST due to non-availability of reserve category candidates). Extendable up to 89 days (4 days in case of selection) based on performance.
Posts may increase or decrease as per need.
Eligibility Criteria
Qualification: MBBS from a recognized university/institution.
Internship: Must have completed (or be completing) internship on or after October 8, 2023. Candidates who completed internship before October 8, 2023, appear only if no fresh junior residents are available.
Delhi Medical Council (DMC) Registration: Required (provisional or permanent).
Age Limit (as on date of interview):
General/EWS: 30 years.
OBC (Delhi only): 33 years.
SC: 35 years.
Upper age limit relaxable by 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC, and as per rules for PwD and other categories.
Post-graduate doctors interested in serving as Junior Residents are allowed if fresh graduates are unavailable, but no extension beyond one year.
Other Requirements:
Must submit all duly filled applications with required documents.
No TA/DA paid for interview.
Selected candidates must submit Police Clearance Certificate within one month from joining, Salary released only after submission of Police Clearance Certificate.
OBC candidates benefit only if in possession of OBC Certificate issued by Government of NCT of Delhi (current financial year 2025-2026 for non-creamy layer).
EWS candidates must have valid EWS certificate for current financial year.
In case of non-availability of candidates from reserved categories, posts may be filled from General category.
Emoluments
Pay Matrix Level 10: Rs. 56,100 + usual allowances as admissible under the rules.
For Junior Residents (MBBS): As per 7th CPC pay matrix Level 10, Pay Rs. 56100 plus usual allowances.

Mode: Submit duly filled form with all requisite educational and other documents by the deadline.
Required Documents (originals with them at interview; submit self-attested copies):
Duly filled application form.
10th/Matric/Secondary pass certificate along with marksheet(s).
12th/Senior Secondary/10+2 pass certificate along with Marksheet of each year.
MBBS certificate alongwith Marksheets.
Internship completion certificate. Internship must be completed on or after 08.10.2023.
Caste (SC, ST, OBC and EWS) certificate (in case of applying under Reserved/EWS category).
Attempt Certificate.
DMC registration.
Aadhar card and a proof of permanent address.
Affix passport-size photograph.
Declaration: Candidate solemnly declares statements are correct; application liable to cancellation if false.
Application Proforma: The document includes a blank form with fields for:
Name, Father’s/Husband’s Name, Date of Birth, Postal Address, Permanent Address, Contact No., Aadhar No., Email ID, Date of completion of Internship, Category (UR/EWS/SC/ST/OBC), Whether worked as Sr./Jr. Resident earlier (details if yes).
Qualification table starting from 10th class (Examination, Total Marks Obtained, % of Marks, University/College, Year of Passing, No. of Attempt).
Panel of waitlisted candidates (3 times selected candidates/posts) prepared for future vacancies.
Selected candidates can be posted in any Jail of Delhi Prisons as per requirement.
In case of cancellation or non-joining, panel used.
No canvassing; false information leads to cancellation and action.
The list of eligible candidates will be checked before appearing in interview.
For non-availability cases, relaxation as per circular dated 10.06.2011 from H&FW Department, GNCT of Delhi.
